Rubina L10A  is multifunctional (5,4,3,2 thread) overlock and coverstitch machine. This machine allows you to use 2, 3, 4 and 5-thread overedge stitches, 2/3 -thread dense rolled hem for thin fabrics,  2-thread chain stitch for stretchy fabrics and various 3-thread coverstitches. OVERLOCK STITCH VARIATIONS:

2- thread operations
The main advantage of 2- thread operations  – light stitch, that doesn’t make fabric stiff.  There are several different stitches suitable for using 2 threads:  2-thread overlock, a great choice for giving the edges of lighter-weight fabrics a flawless finish; 2-thread rolled hem; 2-thread flatlock, a type of stitch that securely joins two pieces of fabric by creating a seam that lays flat when finished. These operations are suitable for finishing edges of the fabric before sewing straight stitch by the edge.

Rolled hem
Rolled hem can be made with 2 or 3 threads. 2-thread rolled hem uses less thread and is thinner and softer – suitable for lighter-weight fabrics. To create a rolled hem, machine rolls the very edge of the fabric to the underside and encloses that edge with thread. It’s a top choice for hemming lightweight and sheer fabrics, as it doesn’t weigh down the fabric, is almost invisible and gives the garment a high-end look.  This stitch is often used for scarves, napkins or lingerie. For stunning effect use decorative thread.

Flatlock
Flatlock can be made with 2 or 3 threads. This seam is created by sewing two layers of fabric together and then pulling them apart until the seam lies flat. It’s a great choice for piecing, as well as seaming sportswear. It can also be used to create a decorative stitch (especially on woven fabrics). For decorative effect use a decorative thread on upper looper or needle.

3-thread overlock

In general, an overlock stitch encloses a seam while using multiple threads to lock each edge (this prevents it from fraying). This stitch is very similar to the 4-thread overlock, but it isn’t as bulky — or quite as strong — because only one needle is used. Still, the 3-thread overlock is great for quickly finishing the edges and seam allowances of thick and medium-weight fabrics, it can be used to create a blind hem and it’s ideal for seaming knits or wovens that won’t be subjected to a lot of wear and tear

4-thread overlock

The 4-thread overlock is the strongest construction stitch. It uses both loopers, as well as both needles. This is a wider stitch, and the two rows of needle stitches provide a sturdy seam for projects that will get a lot of wear and tear, and for seams in areas of stress.

COVERSTITCH AND COMBINED OVERLOCK STITCH VARIATIONS:

5-thread stitch
This stitch is made by using one needle in overlock position and other in coverlock position. This way machine makes overedge stitch with another stitch by its side.

Chain stitch
Chain stitch is stretchier than the straight stitch, but it is not actually elastic. That’s why it is great for fabrics that tend to wrinkle.  2-thread chain stitch is great for strengthening other hems. Moreover, this stitch is perfect for temporary joining two fabrics, because it is easily unseamable.

For striking decorative effect use decorative thread (multicoloured, metallic, silk/embroidery).

3 mm and 6 mm coverstitch
These stitches are used for especially stretchy fabrics (sportswear, undergarments,  jumpers) and as a decorative element.  Coverstitch is elastic and doesn’t tear when the fabric is stretched.

3-needle coverstitch
This is the most elastic and strongest stitch of its type. It also can be used as a decorative element.
