Toika ES+ computer control system for weaving looms

The new Toika ES+ computer control systems make it possible to weave any fabric structure, allowing you to create complex patterns without changing the loom’s tie‑up. The ES+ series is designed to make weaving faster, more comfortable, and more efficient, enhancing the overall creative experience.

ES+ computer‑controlled looms can be equipped with 16, 24, or 32 shafts. Traditional looms use treadles, lams, and jacks, but the ES+ system replaces all these components with a single pedal—similar to that of a sewing machine. This means the weaver no longer needs to lift multiple shafts manually, reducing physical strain and increasing comfort.

Like the previous ES model, the ES+ is built from highly durable, long‑lasting components, ensuring a long service life and easy maintenance. The ES+ offers expanded control options: wireless operation via WLAN using smart devices, a graphical user interface that can be displayed on an external screen via HDMI, and control with a wireless mouse. The ES+ can also be operated via USB using WeavePoint or other compatible software—simply connect the cable, turn on the loom and the computer, and you’re ready to weave.

The ES+ control unit, housed in an elegant and modern casing, automatically selects the required shaft combinations and opens the shed. The shed is formed as a true countermarch—the shafts programmed to rise do rise, and those programmed to sink do sink. The system also automatically compensates for the movement of the shafts farthest from the weaver, ensuring even sheds throughout the weaving process.

The ES+ system offers three weaving modes:

Fast mode – the shed closes with one pedal press and opens with the next.
Slow mode – the shed opens with one press and closes with another.
Normal mode – the shed remains open as long as the pedal is held down.

There is also a reverse mode if the weaver needs to “unweave”.

The new ES+ series allows the weaver to spend more time planning projects and designing fabrics, while virtually eliminating treadling and tie‑up errors.

The Toika ES+ can be installed on almost all manual Toika loom models, allowing existing owners to easily upgrade to computer‑assisted weaving. The ES+ system is also compatible with many other Scandinavian‑type looms from various manufacturers.
